Ballet pianist

Since September 2024, working as a Ballet Accompanist at the École supérieure de ballet du Québec. He also collaborates with Ballet Jazz Montréal as a class pianist.

Between 2018 and 2021, he served as an accompanist for the Song and Dance Ensemble “Krakus” in Poland (pl. ZPiT AGH “Krakus”).

As a ballet accompanist, I create and adapt music in real time to support each exercise, closely following the teacher’s combinations and the dancers’ movement, dynamics, and phrasing. It is a uniquely rewarding role because it turns every class into a live artistic dialogue, where music and movement shape each other moment by moment.

Bella Sutra — A Live Film Experience

Presented on November 26, 2025 at the Rencontres internationales du documentaire de Montréal (RIDM) in Montreal, Bella Sutra unfolded as an immersive live film experience — a 16mm cinematic essay brought to life through real-time music and narration.

Shot on hand-developed analog film, the work traces life in Bella Coola, a remote mountain village in British Columbia, blending intimate storytelling with sharp reflections on our communication crisis, the rural–urban divide, and the fragile myth of progress. Raw, personal, and unfiltered, the screening transformed into a living dialogue between image and sound.

The live performance featured OK Pedersen (director & narration), Eden Glasman (violin), Jakub Tokarczyk (piano), and Peter Hošták (soundscape). The project was also presented in Vancouver at DOXA Documentary Film Festival, extending its cinematic resonance to the West Coast.

Théâtre Aleph — Le Kabaret de la dernière chance

Performed in December 2022 and June 2023 in Paris, Le Kabaret de la dernière chance returned to the stage at Théâtre Aleph as a vibrant tribute to its creator Oscar Castro. Originally written in 1986 by Oscar Castro and Pierre Barouh, this cult classic blends burlesque extravagance with razor-sharp comedy in a theatrical explosion of color, satire, and live music.

Fierce, absurd, poetic, and unapologetically theatrical, the show channels a surreal energy somewhere between Federico Fellini and Luis Buñuel — a whirlwind of eccentric characters, explosive humor, and generous, high-voltage acting.

Written by Oscar Castro and Pierre Barouh, directed by Sylvie Miqueu, Cosme Castro, and Oscarito Castro, with live musicians Timothée Durand and Jakub Tokarczyk, and music by Anita Vallejo — this production was a celebration of laughter, resistance, and the wild, beating heart of cabaret theatre.

PianoCover.pl - Youtube channel

In the spring of 2018, Jakub launched his YouTube channel Pianocover.pl, dedicated to creating original piano arrangements of Polish songs. The channel has since reached over 1 million views and also serves as a valuable resource for vocalists, offering high-quality professional piano backings for singing.

In this space, I share my emotions and my favorite songs, reimagined and performed in my own style. Each arrangement brings me great joy, and I’m equally happy to know that they inspire other pianists as well.

3 piano pieces

Three piano compositions in a minimalist and neoclassical style, written during the COVID epidemic. Titled Noon, Runaway, and After C, they reflect a period of introspection, stillness, and quiet emotional intensity.

I have loved composing since my earliest years, and it remains one of the most natural forms of expression for me. My pieces are not meant to be complex—they come straight from the heart, and I hope one day to arrange them for orchestra or for smaller ensembles.
